Octopia Connector Features

Octopia is the marketplace platform behind Cdiscount and other sales channels. By connecting Octopia with Odoo using the Odoo Octopia Connector, you manage your offers, stock, prices, orders and shipments for every Octopia sales channel you are subscribed to from a single Odoo database.

Supported Features

• Data Synchronization

  • The connector keeps offers, inventory, orders and customer data aligned between Odoo and Octopia through scheduled actions and manual operations.

• Product Management

  • Import Octopia offers and their catalogue products as Listings, with title, description, pictures, brand, category and attributes.

  • Create product details in the shared Octopia catalogue from Odoo, after every requirement is checked on your side.

  • Send new offers and update existing ones: price, stock, delivery options, preparation time and taxes.

• Inventory Management

  • Import the quantity of the offers you ship yourself, and export the quantities that changed using your Stock Based On setting and each offer’s Manage Stock flag.

• Order Management

  • Orders import with their lines, shipping charge, VAT and Octopia commission, and are processed by an Order Workflow chosen per payment method and order status.

  • Declare the parcel (carrier and tracking number) to Octopia when the delivery is validated in Odoo.

• Tax Management

  • Octopia prices already include VAT. Use the taxes the connector creates from the order, apply your own Odoo taxes, or apply them with fiscal position mappings.

• Categories, Brands & Attributes

  • Import the full Octopia category tree, the brand list and the attributes each category asks for.

• Customer Management

  • Create billing, delivery and optional company contacts automatically from imported orders.

• Fulfilment Awareness

  • Offers and orders fulfilled by Octopia are recognised, you are only asked to ship what you ship, and stock held by Octopia is never imported or changed.

• Results and Monitoring

  • Offer packages and product submissions show what Octopia accepted or refused, with the reason. Queues and Logs expose retryable jobs and per-operation logs.

• Multi Channel Selling

  • Connect several Octopia accounts or sales channels by creating one instance for each.

Real-time Synchronization

The connector synchronizes with Octopia on a poll-based schedule, Octopia does not provide webhooks. Everything runs through the per-instance scheduled actions and the manual operations wizard.

How An Octopia Listing Is Built

Octopia’s catalogue is shared by every seller. A listing in Odoo therefore joins two things:

• The offer: your price, stock, condition and delivery options.

• The catalogue product: title, description, pictures, category, brand and attributes.

Both are read on every listing import. Offers are never written one at a time, every export is grouped into an asynchronous offer package and the result is read back afterwards. See Check The Upsert Package Result.

Note

The connector communicates with Octopia through the official Octopia Seller API, authenticated with a Client ID and Client Secret issued by the Octopia Developer Portal, together with your Seller ID (see Create an Octopia instance in Odoo).

Note

Octopia enforces hourly quotas per endpoint, per Seller ID and per client application. When several instances share one Seller ID, stagger their scheduled actions instead of using the same interval.

Note

The connector synchronizes data as detailed above. Other actions must be managed from the Octopia seller portal as usual.
