Configure ShipEngine Connector

The ShipEngine Connector links your Odoo database to a ShipEngine account. From one integration you get live rates on sales orders and delivery orders, shipping labels, tracking numbers and customs forms, and you can cancel shipments from Odoo. You can connect more than one ShipEngine account to the same database.

Setup in ShipEngine

Before you start in Odoo, get an API key from ShipEngine.

Get Your API Key

  1. Sign in to your ShipEngine account.

  2. Copy your API key and keep it safe. You paste it into Odoo in the next section.

Note

Odoo needs an API key before it can import your carriers. If the API Key field is empty, Odoo shows A production key is required to get your ShipEngine carriers. Use your production key so the carriers and rates match your live account.

Setup in Odoo

Configure the Shipping Partner

  1. Go to Sales ‣ Configuration ‣ Shipping Partner and click New.

Click Validate. Odoo then:

  • Creates the shipment in ShipEngine.

  • Attaches the label PDF to the delivery order chatter. Each package gets its own label and tracking number.

  • Posts a Shipment created! message with the tracking numbers.

  • Attaches the ShipEngine custom form when Is a Commercial Invoice Required? is turned on.
