Octopia Connector FAQs

These FAQs cover the most common setup and synchronization topics for the Odoo Octopia Connector. For a full feature list, see Octopia Connector Features.

Getting Started

What credentials does the connector need?

A Client ID and a Client Secret created in the Octopia Developer Portal under API Credentials Management, and your Seller ID from the Octopia seller portal. See Create an Octopia instance in Odoo.

Which sales channels are supported?

Cdiscount and every other marketplace Octopia offers to you. After you connect, the channels you are subscribed to appear in a list and you pick the one the instance sells on. See Create an Octopia instance in Odoo.

Can I connect more than one Octopia account or sales channel?

Yes. Create one instance for each, every instance keeps its own credentials, sales channel, warehouse, pricelist, workflows and scheduled jobs.

Does the connector use webhooks?

No. Octopia does not provide webhooks, synchronization is poll-based through the per-instance scheduled actions and the manual operations wizard.

Products & Listings

How are products matched?

By Barcode, SKU (the offer’s seller reference) or either, per the instance Sync Product With setting. With no match and Create Odoo Products? enabled, Odoo creates the product.

What is the difference between a product and an offer?

The product details (title, description, pictures, category, brand, attributes) belong to Octopia’s shared catalogue. The offer (price, stock, condition, delivery options) is yours. See Octopia Connector Features.

Can I create products on Octopia from Odoo?

Yes. The connector first checks the barcode, title, description, category, brand, pictures and required attributes, and tells you exactly what is missing. See Create Products In The Octopia Catalogue.

Why can I not change the title of a product I imported?

Anything descriptive belongs to the shared product details, and the connector updates offer data only: price, quantity, delivery options and preparation time. See Update Existing Offers In Octopia.

Why was a delivery mode refused?

An offer can only carry delivery modes of one parcel type. Octopia refuses an offer that mixes classic and large parcel modes. See Delivery Options On A Listing.

Orders

Which orders are imported?

Orders of the selected sales channel whose status is in Order Statuses to Import, updated after Import Order After. In Preparation is the default, because that is when Octopia shares the delivery address.

Why was an order skipped?

Most often there is no Order Workflow matching the order’s payment gateway and status. Use the Configure Workflow button on the log line and re-import.

How does Octopia know I have shipped an order?

Once the delivery is validated in Odoo, the carrier name and tracking number are sent by the scheduled action, or straight away with Update in Marketplace on the delivery. Octopia takes one parcel per order, so it is sent when everything on the order is delivered.

What about orders Octopia fulfils from its own warehouse?

They are imported so your records are complete, but you are never asked to ship them and their stock is never imported or changed.

Will the Octopia commission show on the order?

Yes, as one negative line with its VAT. Choose the Commission Product on the instance, or leave it empty if you do not want the line.

Inventory & Pricing

How does stock sync work?

Import creates an inventory adjustment for seller managed offers. Export sends the quantity based on Stock Based On for offers with Manage Stock enabled, and a negative quantity is sent as zero.

How are prices kept in sync?

Prices come from the instance Pricelist, which takes the currency of your sales channel, and are sent with the Export Product’s Price scheduled action or the Update Existing Offers operation. Zero prices are skipped.

Why do I not see a result right after exporting?

Offers and product details are processed by Octopia asynchronously. The result is read by the Check Created Products & Exported Offers scheduled action, or with Check Result on the package. Octopia keeps offer results for three days only.

Troubleshooting

Sync fails or returns access errors, what should I check?

  • Verify the Client ID, Client Secret and Seller ID, and use Test Connection.

  • Make sure a Sales Channel is selected on the instance.

  • If the log mentions the hourly quota, reduce the scheduled action frequency or stagger the instances that share one Seller ID.

  • Review Marketplaces ‣ Queues ‣ Logs (raise the Log Level for more detail).

Dependencies

What does the module require?

The Octopia connector depends on Base Marketplace and communicates with Octopia through the official Octopia Seller API.
