Advanced Cloud Storage Solution FAQs

These frequently asked questions cover the most common setup and sync topics for the TeqStars Advanced Cloud Storage Solution app. To connect a cloud service, see Create a Provider in Odoo.

Yes, both on-premise and on Odoo.sh. It does not work on Odoo Online (SaaS), because Odoo Online does not allow third-party apps.

All six, at the same time: Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Nextcloud and ownCloud. You get one connection per cloud, so Odoo will not let you add a second OneDrive next to your first one. Each connection syncs on its own, with its own folder and its own settings.

No. Webhooks just make it instant. Without them a scheduled job picks up every change on a regular interval, and if your cloud cannot reach your server the app quietly switches to that instead. Nothing is lost either way.

The scheduled actions are switched off after install, so turn on the ones you need under Settings ‣ Technical ‣ Scheduled Actions.

Delete it in Odoo and the cloud copy goes too. The other way round, you decide: tick the Delete event on the connection and cloud deletions come through. When a mirrored file goes, it goes from Odoo and from every other connected cloud with it.

Important

We recommend keeping an independent copy of important data, as deletions and reverse operations are propagated and may be hard to undo.

Turning on Real-Time Attachment Sync to Cloud? only picks up new attachments, so your drive is not flooded on day one. Want the old ones up there too? Open Cloud Storage ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings, switch on Upload Existing Attachments, then press Sync Existing Attachments on the provider and they go up in the background.

No. Sharing in Odoo controls who sees the file in Odoo and in the portal. It never touches permissions on Google Drive, OneDrive or anywhere else. Your cloud settings stay exactly as you left them.

Open Cloud Storage ‣ Queues ‣ Logs and filter on Error, and it tells you exactly what went wrong. Fix it, then press Upload to Cloud on the file, or just leave it: the next scheduled run tries again on its own.

Not the database, the filestore, which is where Odoo actually keeps attachment files. Switch on Move Attachments to External Storage and the app moves those files off your server onto your cloud, leaving the record in Odoo so nothing breaks. How much room you get back depends on how much of your storage is business attachments rather than Odoo’s own files, such as avatars and product images, which stay where they are. Change your mind and it brings them back.

Only the people you allow. The app comes with its own user and manager groups plus rules on every folder and file, so people see what they own or what has been shared with them, portal users included.
