Import Products In Odoo

  • Before importing listings, configure the relevant Product Configuration on the instance, particularly Pricelist, Sync Listing Images?, and Create Odoo Products?. Listings are matched to Odoo products by SKU. A listing item that was imported or exported before is recognised by its BigCommerce variant ID first.

  • The connector imports BigCommerce products and their variants into Odoo as Listings and Listing Items, with name, description, attributes, categories, brand, tax class, sales channels and visibility. Weight and SKU are written to an existing Odoo product only when it has none. Images are imported when Sync Listing Images? is enabled.

To import listings:

  1. Go to the Marketplaces ‣ Overview menu in Odoo.

  2. Click on the Operations button from the instance record.

  3. In BigCommerce Operation, choose Import. Then in BigCommerce Import Operation, select Import Listings.

    Listing Import Screen
    • The wizard exposes the following options:

    • Date Range: Listings corresponding to the dates specified in the Date Range field will be retrieved from BigCommerce. The connector pre-fills the start of the range from the instance’s Last Listing Imported On date, falling back to 30 days ago when no previous import has run.

    • Marketplace Listing ID: Import specific BigCommerce products by ID. Separate multiple IDs with a comma, for example 5869502038181, 9869502038181, 4586950203818. These products are imported immediately, without a queue job, and the Date Range is ignored. If an ID no longer exists in BigCommerce, the matching listing is deleted from Odoo.

    • Update Existing Listing?: When enabled, the connector overwrites the matching Listing in Odoo with the latest BigCommerce data. When disabled, existing Listings are skipped and the skip is recorded in the log.

    • Update Price?: Visible when Update Existing Listing? is enabled. When enabled, the prices of existing listings are written into the instance pricelist. Prices of new listings are always written. Disable it if you manage prices independently in Odoo.

  4. Click PROCESS.

When you use the Date Range, the connector fetches listing data from BigCommerce and adds it to a Product Queue Job at Marketplaces ‣ Queues. The queue is processed by the scheduled action Marketplace : Process Queue Job, or you can process it manually from the queue. It creates or updates Listings, Listing Items, and (if Create Odoo Products? is enabled) the underlying Odoo products.

Important

  • The connector matches BigCommerce listings to Odoo products by SKU. If no Odoo product matches and Create Odoo Products? is enabled, a new Odoo product is created. If it is disabled, the listing is not created and the queue line fails with the message that the Odoo product was not found.

  • BigCommerce allows only one image per variant. A variant’s image is imported when Sync Listing Images? is enabled. In Odoo you cannot attach more than one image to a listing item of a BigCommerce listing.

Note

  • The Last Listing Imported On field on the Last Processed On tab of the instance is updated after each Date Range import. It is used as the start of the Date Range the next time you open the wizard. Listing import has no scheduled action.

  • Categories, brands and tax classes used by an imported listing are imported automatically when they are missing in Odoo. Running Import Categories From BigCommerce or Import Brands From BigCommerce first is optional.
